We’re only a week and a bit into the election campaign and the public has already cottoned on to the sneaky trick the Tories are using to con people into voting for them.

A frustrated member of the audience in tonight’s edition of BBC Question Time called out Tory Minister Damian Green for doing it.

He said he’d bet his wife £10 that the Work and Pensions Secretary would say “strong and stable” and “coalition of chaos” in his first answer on the weekly political debate show.

It comes after a week of the phrases being trotted out at any given opportunity by Theresa May and her team of Tories.

The audience member pleaded with the panel: “Please! Let’s have a grown up debate.”
