The Labour party has outlined a 20-point plan to fix what it describes as the “rigged economy” in the workplace. Among the more eye-catching policies are a ban on unpaid internships, a rise in the minimum wage and the introduction of a maximum pay ratio between executives and employees. While releasing the plan, Labour – which enjoyed a seven point gain on the Conservatives in opinion polling this week – accused the Government of allowing low pay and insecurity to “mushroom”. ‘Update our country for the 21st century’
