BRITAIN’S troops are still being let down by a failure to honour the Government’s much-trumpeted Military Covenant, MPs warn today.
The MPs recommended the appointment of a Cabinet Office Minister for the Covenant to ensure it is applied across all sectors of Government.
The all-party Defence Committee report was issued with British forces being increasingly concentrated in the UK as the Army is withdrawn from Germany.
The Covenant – a pledge to ensure the military family including veterans is treated fairly – was enshrined in law by David Cameron.
The MPs said: “Too many independent assessments of military accommodation point to serious dissatisfaction with the service provided.”
