THERESA MAY faces a White Van mutiny over “clueless” plans to tackle air pollution without a national scrappage scheme, the Sun can reveal.
Campaigners said a THIRD of motorists planning to back the Tories could switch their vote over plans to introduce Toxin Taxes to towns and cities.
FairFuel UK said drivers were incensed at the Government’s plans to hand the tax-raising powers to councils – and proposals to limit a scrappage scheme to just 9,000 diesel cars.
A poll revealed 5,900 motorists were planning to vote Tory but some 2,000 may change their vote over the proposals.
Some 57 per cent of FairFuel’s members believe Friday’s Air Quality plan had failed to offer any solutions to help drivers.
